Finger Rock

Finger Rock or Finger Mountain is at Mile 97.5 and is a most interesting stop.
It is a tor or a craggy outcrop of rock formed by weathering found at the summit of a hill.

Finger Rock points skyward towards Fairbanks and is used by aviators as a landmark.

Climbing the boulders here is fun and there is an awesome view of the surrounding area.
You can see for miles!

And if you are quiet and watch you will probably see Arctic Ground Squirrels scurrying about.
We nicknamed one of them Flash.
